Steps

1. Get some toothpaste that is not too abrasive. Most major brands have abrasives- see warnings for ways to tell whether or not the toothpaste is abraisive.
2. Apply a small, pea sized amount of toothpaste to the cloth, and apply to the iPod making sure to rub the toothpaste in thoroughly but not too hard!
3. Leave your iPod for about a minute or two to dry.
4. Rub the excess toothpaste away with tissues or something soft. You have to do this thoroughly or else you will not get the best results.
5. You should see that most of the scratches are gone from the back of your iPod. (Note: Some scratches may still remain.)

Tips

• To prevent future scratches, consider purchasing an iPod case for you iPod. If you can't afford to buy an iPod case, avoid carrying your iPod in your pocket with other objects, such as your house keys.
• Instead of a cloth, you can use a Q-tip.
• If this method doesn't work, try using a CD cleaning kit or Brasso.
• Aquafresh is a good non-abrasive brand of toothpaste.

Warnings

• This toothpaste method will not work with deep scratches.
• When applying the toothpaste, use a soft cloth that is made of 100% cotton, otherwise, your iPod will end up with twice as many scratches as it had in the first place.
• In order to ensure that your toothpaste is nonabraisive, consult the toothpaste ingredient list;If Dicalcium Phosphate (Bone), Hydrated Silica (Sand), and Calcium Carbonate (Stone) are listed high on the list, you may be dealing with a highly abraisive toothpaste.
• When cleaning your Ipod, do not wipe in circular motions!
